The serpentine stone of Prato is a metamorphic rock used in romanesque and gothic architecture in the Florentine area.
A soil sample collected near the Serpentine's quarry is chemically treated and absorbed by a filter paper with silver nitrate, the chemical reaction creates the chromatographic image, the soil's photography.
The representation of this stone and its history starts from its quarry, its source, the tapestry is a totemic object depicting the stone's source.
